BK Hobbies is the retail division of BK Designs LLC. BK Hobbies' mission is to offer top notch brands with the best possible customer service in the industry. We are distributors of SAB helicopters, BK Servo, Switch Rotorblades, Theta Servos and Xnova motors, we also carry Scorpion, HobbyWing, YGE, ManiaX Batteries, Torq and Xpert servos and many other premium RC helicopter products! Whether you are a hobby shop owner or an avid hobbyist interested in RC, we are here to serve your needs!

	Bert Kammerer (BK) Bert handles all the operations, he oversees pretty much all of the technical aspects of the business from warehouse software to purchasing to developing new products and making sure all new projects come to fruition.
	Suzi Kammerer (The Boss) Suzi handles the business side of things. She is the bookkeeper and accountant and makes sure we don't run out of money!
	James Palacios James handles the day to day shipping and receiving operations at BK. He is an excellent pilot and loves attending events.
	Joe Muscarella Joe handles most of our behind the scenes marketing, including online and print media ads, social media, develops and maintains our web sites and more!
	John Bernard John is our surface team manager, he makes sure our car guys are well taken care of with our proprietary servo lines.

	Alex Dean Alex lives in Texas and is extremely knowledgeable about gas powered machines. He is an extremely well rounded pilot with lots of knowledge.
	Andrew Lachs Andrew is a music teacher in New York and is also a very good pilot, he attends multiple events per year and is also a Theta Servo team member.
	Andy Ross Andy has been a co-host of a very well known podcast (Free Fall RC) for years, Andy brings a lot of knowledge to our team, he has flown different brands giving him experience across many different products.
	Ben Conner Ben is from Summerville, NC. He is a very technical guy and loves YGE ESCs, if you have a YGE question, Ben is the man to ask!
	Blanton Rivera Blanton is from Puerto Rico, he is one of the nicest guys you'll meet in the hobby, loves speed flying and have won contests doing so, Blanton is also incredible at taking amazing pictures.
	Brittany Ringer Brittany lives in Ohio and loves to attend events, she goes to the Spring Fling in Virginia as well as IRCHA among others. She is a very talented pilot and loves her Goblins!
	Cary Brooks Cary lives in Michigan where he runs his own brewery, he loves beer and can not only drink it, but can brew it too! He is an extremely technical pilot always willing to help others.
	Charley Crespo Charley travels to events with a mobile hobby shop and he always helps anyone with their parts needs. Charley is also big into F3C, make sure to say hello when you see him at an event near you!
	Chris Barnes Christopher lives near Tampa, Florida and is extremely active in the hobby, he loves his SAB helicopters and is always willing to help others. He is a firefighter as well!
	Chris Diamanti Christopher lives in upstate New York, he is a very good pilot who loves to hangout with all his pilot friends, he is technical and precise.
	CJ Jenkins CJ has been in the hobby for a long time, he used to be a team pilot for Align, is extremely knowledgeable and always willing to help.
	Cliff Lewis Cliff is from central Virginia and loves F3C, he has been flying since he graduated high school in 1991, Cliff is always willing to help others!
	Daniel Tureac Daniel, the famous Gucci from the Heli Heads podcast, he loves to help people and is always traveling in style!
	Darrell Thorp Darrell is a grammy award winning producer. He loves helicopters and is a very likable guy, he is always willing to help other pilots and has a wide variety of helicopters.
	Eric Shoe Eric lives in North Carolina, you can always find Eric at your local Mexican restaurant where he will easily spend hours talking to you and helping you with your helicopter questions while enjoying a nice margarita.
	Greg Ringle Greg lives in Arizona and loves all types of flying including sport, 3D, low head speed and even speed! He prefers the SAB helis and as most of our team guys is always willing to help others.
	Greggor McGrath Greggor has been in the hobby for a very long time and has been involved in team management and even worked for a very large RC retailer in the past. He brings an enormous amount of knowledge and talent to our team.
	Jamie Burkholder Jamie lives in Concord, NC and is relatively new to the hobby, but loves flying and attending events.
	Joe Reyes Joe is one of the main organizers and promoter of the "Spring Fling" and "Mowdown" events in Fredericksburg, VA. Joe is a true ambassador to our hobby!
	Jon Elrod Jon lives in Atlanta, Georgia and has been flying since 2007! Jon is extremely knowledgable and used to fly Synergy Helicopters, Jon now enjoys SAB helicopters and attends events in the Southeast.

	Justin Cook Justin is an incredible pilot, he has been flying since he was a little kid and with the help of his dad, he has come a long way! Justin is also a factory pilot for SAB.
	Kevin McGrady Kevin, also famous as "Skids" on the Heli Heads podcast loves flying and hanging with others, he is very knowledgeable and travels to many events.
	Kramer Hecht Kramer lives in Arizona and he has earned the nickname KBBH (Kramer buddy box Hecht) for how much time he spends buddy boxing. He is always willing to help with anything heli related and when he is not wrenching on someone's helicopter or buddy boxing a new pilot, you will find him at the flight line flying the helis he loves.
	Kyle Stacy Kyle is one of the world's best pilots and has been an incredible asset to BK Hobbies over the years, Kyle is always willing to share his knowledge while at events, make sure to approach him and say hello when you see him at an event.
	Lamarr Williams Lamarr is an awesome pilot and loves the hobby very much. He is a mechanical technician and live in Pennsylvania. Lamarr loves to attend events, so you might see him at a fun fly near you.
	Levi Pettett Levi is from the central Florida area and flies at the TORCHS field regularly. He is going places! At only 10, he is already learning some really cool maneuvers! Look for Levi at an event near you.
	Manny Neto Manny lives in Deland, Florida and is a skydiving instructor! He is an excellent pilot and enjoys almost every brand BK Hobbies has to offer, make sure to say hello when you see him at an event.
	Marc Fedoroff Marc lives in New York, he is also a factory team pilot for SAB and Futaba. Marc is always willing to help and is a very accomplished pilot. Look for Marc at an event in the north east near you!
	Mike Dipalo Mike Dipalo has been flying RC helis and airplanes for over 10 Years with his favorite helicopter being the Raw 700 and favorite plane/jet being the SAB Lizard. He is an engineer by trade and builds cool secret stuff! He has also helped many RC companies with designing and testing.
	Mike Lawrence Michael lives with his wife and kids in North Carolina, Mike is a super nice guy who loves flying, hanging and helping others.
	Morgan Shah Morgan lives in the Orlando, Florida area and belongs to the TORCHS club. He enjoys the hobby alongside his son Levi. Together they make an awesome father and son team!
	Omar Garcia Omar lives in South Florida, Omar is new to the BK Hobbies team and is also part of the Theta Servo team, he actively flies in South Florida clubs and attends a few events around the US.
	Steve Eldred Steve lives in Georgia with his beautiful family, he's been involved in RC helis for a very long time and loves SAB helicopters. Look for Steve at an event near you!
	Steve Yun Steve lives in Virginia and is one of the original creators of the Freefall RC podcast, one of the longest lasting podcasts in the RC industry! Steve is also on the SAB factory team and is the team manager for Theta servos in the USA.
	Todd Dudek Todd has been in the hobby longer than most, he has a vast amount of knowledge, Todd is not only good with electrics, but also with nitro and is very methodical. Todd is always willing to help any pilot with anything.
	Tom Shin Tom is a nitro guy, he usually has an answer for any nitro related issue and brings an incredible amount of knowledge to our team. Tom lives in Georgia and attends many events throughout the year.
	William Anthony "Bill Ann" is a well known content creator in our RC hobby industry, he attends many events and runs a very popular YouTube video channel. Make sure to say hello to Bill when you see him at an event near you!

Our History

It all started with the development of a new servo product back in 2013 when Bert Kammerer, co-owner of the company was working for SAB Heli Division and helping develop and test the original Goblin 500 helicopter. At that time the market was lacking a fast and powerful mid size servo, most servos were slow, lacked torque and centered poorly. After some research, Bert realized that there was just no way to have a fast, strong and accurate servo with such a small motor. The solution was to use a full size servo motor and fit it in a mid size servo case. The "BK Servo" mid size servo model DS-5001HV was born! After many years and a lot of other servos being developed, BK Servo has become one of the most popular servo brands in the industry.

A year later, Bert and his wife Suzi Kammerer were given exclusive distribution for Spartan RC in the Americas. Having two brands instead of one, Bert and Suzi decided to start an online store to offer their products to the RC community, at the time their business was called "BK Designs LLC" and therefore without any hesitation, they registered bkdesignsllc.com and opened a small and modest online store that offered BK Servo and Spartan products to dealers and consumers. Shortly thereafter Bert and Suzi developed a new product called Switch Rotorblades. Switch Rotorblades were based on a well proven NACA airfoil, the airfoil had been subjected to extensive testing and development. Switch Rotorblades are simply high performance blades with the stability and agility required for today's demanding pilot. The perform very well for all flying styles including 3D, sport and precision pilots alike and best of all, they're reasonably priced.

Fast forward to July 4, 2017 and BK Designs LLC opened SAB USA as a joint partnership with SAB, one of the leading manufacturers of RC Helicopters in the world. SAB USA was created to better manage the distribution and support of SAB products in the continental US, provide better dealer and customer support, MAP pricing enforcement, event attendance and promotion, team support and much more. The owners of SAB, Stefano Baiardi and Enrico Bernabei as well as Bert and Suzi Kammerer have had a long standing friendship as well as business relationship. Bert and Suzi worked for SAB in the past, Bert himself brings a world of knowledge about SAB products. He has not only worked for SAB in the past, but he has also been a factory pilot since the creation of the SAB Goblin line of helicopters. Suzi Kammerer was also an employee of SAB in the past working with dealers and distributors and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in business finance and management within the hobby industry.

In early 2018, the BK Designs LLC has grown to be a very well known and respected company and has diversified to stocking other well known brands. The BK Designs team realized that it was time for a change, not only by increasing its product offering, but also by launching a new, easier to use, easier to remember and catchier web site and thus bkhobbies.com came to be on May 16, 2018.

As of 2024, BK Hobbies now stocks premium brands and is known for its excellent customer service and fast shipping. BK Designs LLC comes from very humble beginnings and has grown thanks to our amazing customers, we owe it to all of you and rest assured that BK Hobbies will continue to lead the industry in customer service and support.
